Colleen Duggan
Classes: Iyengar Yoga
Colleen is a certified Iyengar teacher who has been studying yoga since the early 1990s throughout Asia, Europe, and the U.S. She has been teaching locally in Camden and Islesboro since relocating here in 2001 to start a family. Colleen is dedicated to the Iyengar method of yoga which focuses on alignment and precision in the poses. She became fully certified as an Iyengar teacher in 2010, a process that took over 6 years. The Iyengar certification is rare among yoga teachers as the training and testing are so rigorous and demanding, taking many years to complete. Part of the Iyengar method is that all teachers continue as life long learners on the yoga path studying under more senior instructors, always deepening their understanding of yoga. As well as traveling to attend yoga workshops and training throughout the year, Colleen commutes regularly to Cambridge Massachusetts to study with her mentor, Patricia Walden. She also travels every other year to Pune, India to study directly with the Iyengar family for one or two months. www.camdenmaineyoga.com

Ramona Black
Classes: Yoga Bootcamp
Ramona has been practicing yoga for the past 20 years. It wasn't until she found herself a stay at home mother with 2 small children, that she realized her passion for teaching yoga. Frustrated that she couldn't find a yoga class that offered childcare, she created one. Starting in the basement of a church she began teaching classes to her girlfriends while their children played in the next room. From the first class that she taught, she knew that sharing the gifts of yoga was what she was meant to be doing. In the winter of 2015 she did her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with one of her favorite teachers, Sherry Sidoti. Sherry taught her that sharing yoga is a lot more than teaching postures, breathing and meditation. It's about creating a safe space for people to get curious about the connection between their mind and their body. Also in her yoga training Ramona learned the importance of having a truly dedicated self practice. Everyday digging a little bit deeper to find your true self and bringing that true self into all your teachings.
She has been dedicated to teaching since. First teaching in the Camden area and then she spend 2 years teaching in Denmark. Ramona believes in bringing yoga into everything she does, everyday.
